SEC Women's Tennis Weekly Honors - Feb. 10, 2021
Player of the Week: Georgia's Katarina Jokic clinched the Bulldogs sole match this past week. On court one, facing off against No. 27 Pairone, Jokic went the distance in three sets and clinched the match for the Bulldogs 6-4, 6-7(3) 6-2 on court one giving Georgia the 4-3 win over FSU. It's her second top-50 singles win of the season. She had two last season defeating No. 21 Natasha Subhash of Virginia and No. 40 Rebeka Mertena of Tennessee before the cancelation of the 2019-20 season. She is 3-0 in dual matches this season in singles, 12-1 overall. In doubles, she upset No. 7 Victoria Allen and Petra Hule of Florida State 6-4 with partner Ariana Arseneault. She has back-to-back top-10 doubles upsets with different partners. It's the first season she has defeated two top-10 opponents in a single season. She is Is 3-0 in doubles on the season.
Freshman of the Week: Mississippi State's Chloé Cirotte surrendered just three games in two singles matches this week while compiling a perfect 4-0 record in singles and doubles in MSU's wins this past week to help keep the Bulldogs perfect (7-0) in 2021. Cirotte notched two straight-set singles wins including a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory for the second time this season, downing Nicole Reilly of UNA. She recorded the first singles point for the Bulldogs in both of their victories. In doubles, she was 2-0 as well, playing at the top two spots in the lineup. In five of her six singles outings this spring, Cirotte has limited her foe to just three games or less. The rookie is undefeated in singles dual matches (6-0) thus far in her MSU career, 7-1 overall.
