TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama softball head coach Patrick Murphy earned his 1,100th win at the helm of the Crimson Tide as part of a Sunday doubleheader sweep over Louisville, winning 5-0 and 4-0.

The Alabama (4-0) bullpen continued its shutout streak to start the season, holding Louisville (0-2) scoreless over 14.0 innings of play. With 24.0 shutout innings to start the season, it is the second-longest such streak for the Crimson Tide, only trailing the 29.2 scoreless frames that began the 2011 campaign. Montana Fouts (2-0) threw a complete-game one hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in the opening contest before Lexi Kilfoyl (2-0) followed with her own three-hit shutout in the second game, fanning 10 batters.

Offensively, Elissa Brown and KB Sides were a combined 6-for-11 on the day to lead the offense, scoring four of the team's nine runs. Freshman Bailey Dowling drove in a pair of runs on her first career home run, a third-inning slam over the left field fence in game two.

FROM HEAD COACH PATRICK MURPHY
