SEC Gymnast of the Week - Florida's Trinity Thomas, a junior from York, Pa., won the all-around at No. 2 LSU with a 39.900, setting the Florida record and posting the fifth highest all-around score in NCAA history. Thomas won a share of every title, including the victory on floor with a 10.0. She won the vault and bars with a 9.975, and tied with teammate Ellie Lazzari on beam with a 9.95.
SEC Co-Specialists of the Week - Florida's Nya Reed, a junior from Landover, Md., scored 9.925 on both vault and floor in the win at No. 2 LSU. Reed earned a share of second place on floor and tied for fourth on vault with her collegiate best score to help Florida set season-best team totals of 49.550 on both events.
LSU's Alyona Shchennikova, a sophomore from Evergreen, Colo., set or matched career highs on all three events. Shchennikova set a career-high on vault with a 9.925, and matched her career high and set a season high on bars with a 9.95. She wrapped up her night with a 9.925 to match her career high and finish second on the event.
SEC Co-Freshmen of the Week - Kentucky's Bailey Bunn, a freshman from Greenville, N.C., recorded the highest all-around score amongst all SEC freshmen last week with a 39.350 in the win over No. 5 Arkansas. The meet marked the first 197-point performance of the season. Bunn tied season highs on vault (9.85) and beam (9.825) and set season highs on bars (9.85) and the all-around.
Missouri's Amaya Marshall, a freshman from Kannapolis, N.C., won the all-around title in Mizzou's win over No. 19 Auburn. Marshall tallied scores of 9.825 on vault, 9.775 on vault and floor and 9.700 on beam to total the 39.075. The all-around title was the first win of Marshall's Tiger career.
