Men's Runner of the Week: Myles Richter, Arkansas

Arkansas' Myles Richter produced the best 8K time in the SEC last weekend with a time of 23:33.5 on the Agri Park course to finish as runner-up in the 33rd annual Chile Pepper Festival, improving his previous best by nearly a full minute. The progression for Richter through the 8K race started with him being in 10th place, then moving up to fifth at the 3.5K split before he secured second place.

Men's Freshman Runner of the Week: Victor Kiprop, Alabama

Alabama's Victor Kiprop finished the men's Blue 5 Mile race at the Joe Piane Invitational with a time of 23:30.10 to lead Alabama to a sixth place team finish, which was best among SEC teams. Kiprop finished eighth in a field that included six teams ranked in the top-25 nationally.

Women's Runner of the Week: Mercy Chelangat, Alabama

Alabama's Mercy Chelangat opened her 2021 season by winning the Joe Piane Invitational women's blue 5K with a time of 16:10.30. It marked her fourth consecutive cross country win, and it was the best women's 5K time in the SEC last weekend.

Women's Freshman Runner of the Week: Carmie Prinsloo, Arkansas

Arkansas' Carmie Prinsloo's debut race on the Agri Park course produced a time of 17:14.5 as she placed eighth among a field of 322 finishers and was the top freshman in the race. Prinsloo finished third among the Razorback team behind individual winner Krissy Gear and seventh place finisher Gracie Hyde.
