SEC Player of the Week - Missouri forward Kobe Brown, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound junior from Huntsville, Ala., led the Tigers to a 92-86 win over No. 15 Alabama against Alabama with a career-high 30 points. He was 9-of-13 (.692) shooting including a season-high two three-pointers. Brown's 13 rebounds gave him his fifth double-double of the season and fifth game with 20 or more points. He also added four assists and a block against the Crimson Tide.
SEC Freshman of the Week - Kentucky guard TyTy Washington Jr., a 6-foot-3, 197-pound freshman from Phoenix, Ariz., set Kentucky's new single-game assists record with 17 assists in a 92-77 win vs. Georgia. It also tied for the seventh most in SEC history. Not only did the freshman guard dish out 17 assists, he also scored 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting for his second double-double of his career and his first of the points-assists variety. For the week, Washington averaged 11.0 points, 10.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game accounting for his five points, six rebounds and four assists in the narrow 65-60 loss at No. 21/21 LSU on Tuesday.
