36 more SEC players selected on second day of MLB Draft

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (July 18, 2022)-----A total of 36 Southeastern Conference baseball players were selected on the second day of the Major League Baseball Draft on Monday, which included rounds 2-10. Seventeen SEC players were picked on Sunday, and a total of 53 have been selected through 10 rounds.

All 14 SEC schools had at least one player selected on Monday, and 24 Major League clubs have drafted at least one SEC player in the first 10 rounds. Tennessee had six players taken on Monday, while Arkansas and Ole Miss had five each.

Five SEC players were selected in Round 1 (including compensation picks) and Competitive Balance Round A to start the draft on Sunday. Ten were taken in Round 2 and Competitive Balance Round B.

The MLB Draft concludes Tuesday with Rounds 11-20 slated to begin at 2 p.m. CT.
