MS State closes regular season with sweep of Mizzou
STARKVILLE - Mississippi State volleyball closed out its regular-season and celebrated Senior Day in style with a 3-0 [25-16, 25-14, 25-20] victory over Missouri on Saturday evening inside the Newell-Grissom Building.
"We were able to go out with a win today on our home court at the Griss," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "We had a great fan base today. We are very grateful that our family came out to support us this week to finish out the regular-season. It says a lot about how much heart this team plays with. I am very proud of every single one of those players that were on the court today. It was a total team win, and a total team effort. I'm super proud of the VolleyDawgs. Now we just stick together for selection Sunday and hope we get to see our name called."
Prior to the match, State took time to honor its 2022 senior class, which included recognitions for Lacey Jeffcoat, Gabby Coulter, Burgundy Walters, Katie Culumovic and volleyball manager Courtney Clevenger.
"Today was all about our seniors," Dennis said. "Those seniors changed the culture. They have changed what is in our gym. There is a banner here because of what they have done. They have helped set the tone and give us some momentum to head in the direction we want as a program."
