Player of the Week
Angel Reese, LSU
Reese, with 19 rebounds against George Mason, Reese tied her career high which she set in LSU's previous game against NSU. That gave her five consecutive games with at least 15 rebounds. Reese is leading the SEC in points, averaging 4.31 points more than the next closest player. She is also leading in rebounding, averaging 4.69 more rebounds than the next closest player. She has been critical in helping LSU lead the nation with 103.3 points per game through 7 games. She has had a double-double in all seven games this season, LSU's longest double-double streak since Sylvia Fowles had 19 in a row during the 2007-07 season. Reese averaged 23 points, 14.5 rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal per game last week, going 18-of 27 with a free throw average of 62.5.
Freshman of the Week
Saylor Poffenbarger, Arkansas
Poffenbarger, stays huge in the Razorbacks winning the Paradise Jam Reef Tournament, averaging double-digits in scoring with 12.3 points along with a team's best 6.7 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game and 1.0 block per game. Her most impressive performance was in the Razorbacks' 69-53 win over ranked Kansas State, as she held Gabby Gregory to just five points off 1-of-10 shooting. Gregory has logged 35 points the game prior. She was everywhere on the court in that ranked victory over the Wildcats with nine points, six rebounds, a career-high six assists, two blocks and one steal. Logged back-to-back double-digit scoring games, including a career-high 15 points off 5-of-8 shooting versus Clemson. She also pulled down nine rebounds to finish just shy of a double-double. For the week, she averaged 12.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, three assists, a black and a steal per game.
