Mizzou shines in tri-meet vs. Lindenwood, Texas Woman's
SAINT CHARLES, Mo. -The University of Missouri gymnastics shined on the road against Lindenwood and Texas Woman's on Sunday, with the Tigers sealed the victory with a road score of 196.800, the highest road score of the season for the Tigers. TWU sat behind Mizzou with a 194.350, while Lindenwood recorded a 191.325.
The Tigers beam rotation started off strong and did not let off the gas.The freshman Addison Lawrence sat in the lead off spot earning a 9.85. The line up was anchored by Sienna Schreiber she recorded a 9.85 to push Mizzou beam score to a 49.200. Lawrence, Sheremeta and Schreiber all tied for event winners with their score of 9.850.
Mizzou's Floor team showed off in the second rotation. The rotation was highlighted by Jocelyn Moore sticking her first pass of a double layout. Moore earned a season best of 9.925. Amari Celstine anchored the second rotation putting on a strong routine, earning a 9.925. The Tigers earned a 49.325 on floor. Once again Mizzou swept the event with Celestine and Moore taking the top spot.
The Tigers continued to grow their lead on the vault rotation in the final three spots the tigers did not score under a 9.8. In the anchor spot Celestine walked away with the event title with a score of 9.85. The Tigers scored an even 49 on Vault.
Mizzou closed out the meet on bars, the rotation started off strong with Schreiber scoring with a stick earning a score of 9.9. In the middle of the rotation Alisa Sheremeta earned a solid 9.875 to continue the strong rotation. In the fifth spot Moore had a hit routine, scoring a 9.90. Schreiber and Moore shared the event title. The Tigers walked away with a 49.275.
The Tigers return home for Gold Rush against Kentucky on Friday, Feb. 3. The meet will air on SECN starting a 5 p.m. CT.
