SEC with seven top-10 teams in NCBWA poll
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Jan. 31, 2023)-----Seven Southeastern Conference baseball teams are ranked in the top-10 of the 2023 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason Poll released Tuesday. Six SEC programs are ranked in the top-seven, including preseason No. 1 LSU.
Tennessee is ranked No. 2, while Florida is No. 4, Texas A&M is No. 5, Arkansas is No. 6, Ole Miss is No. 7 and Vanderbilt is No. 9. Alabama is ranked No. 25.
LSU is ranked No. 1 in all five of the major polls released so far. Auburn, Mississippi State and South Carolina are ranked in at least one of the other polls.
The 2023 college baseball season begins the weekend of Feb. 17. The SEC led all conferences with five teams in the NCAA Super Regionals and four teams in the College World Series last season, while Ole Miss won the SEC's third consecutive national title.
