LSU's Reese shines with 36 points, 20 boards vs. Rebels
BATON ROUGE - No. 5 LSU (24-1, 12-1 SEC) bounced back with a 69-60 victory over Ole Miss (20-6, 9-4 SEC) on Thursday night in the PMAC in its annual Play4Kay Pink Out game.
Angel Reese led the Tigers with a career high 36 points as she dominated paint on both ends all night. Reese added 20 rebounds to secure the fourth 20/20 performance and first 30/20 game of her career.
Alexis Morris scored 15 and went 9-10 from the charity stripe. LaDazhia Williams and Flau'jae Johnson each had 8 points, and Johnson picked up 3 big steals.
Ole Miss's Angel Baker led her squad with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Madison Scott followed in scoring with 13 points and 4 boards. The Rebels held LSU to its third-lowest scoring total of the season.
The Ole Miss defense proved strong as LSU went into halftime with just a two-point lead after a 15-point first half from Reese. The Tigers outscored the Rebels by 7 in the third and continued to battle in the fourth. LSU made its shots through the fourth and cruised to the nine-point win.
Up next LSU will hit the road for its final two road games of the season. On Sunday the Tigers will face the Florida Gators at 1:00 p.m. on the SEC Network. On Thursday LSU is slated to take on Vanderbilt in a 6:30 p.m. match up on the SEC Network.
