MS State's stacked offense, Loftin's Ks best Red Wolves
STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Mississippi State Diamond Dawgs defeated the Arkansas State Red Wolves in the midweek affair by a score of 16-2. The Dawgs collected a season-high 16 runs on 18 hits in the win.
The Bulldogs' (14-8) hitting was on display as five players had two or more RBIs and had at two or more hits. Colton Ledbetter shined again, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBIs. He also tacked on a two-run shot to center in the fourth, his fifth on the season. Luke Hancock and Hunter Hines also had impressive days from the plate, having three RBIs each.
Bradley Loftin drew the start for State today and put in five innings of work. He only allowed three hits and no earned runs en route to the win over the Red Wolves. Loftin also added nine strikeouts. Cole Cheatham and Logan Forsythe closed the ballgame with three strikeouts and no earned runs.
