SEC Baseball Players of the Week (May 11, 2015)

Player of the Week: Marcus Mooney, South Carolina

• Returned from a hamstring injury and had a phenomenal weekend in College Station. • Hit .700 (7-for-10) in a series victory against second-ranked Texas A&M.

• Scored three runs, hit two doubles, launched a home run and recorded five RBI. Also walked three times.

• At one point in the weekend, Mooney had reached base in nine consecutive plate appearances.

• Hit a key three-run home run - his first career home run - and tied a career-high with three RBI in Friday's 9-7 win against the Aggies.

• Followed that up with a 4-for-4 day at the plate with two walks in the 15-14 loss at Texas A&M.

• Closed out the series going 2-for-3 with an RBI in the 8-7 series-clinching victory.

Co-Pitcher of the Week: Carson Fulmer, Vanderbilt

• Recorded his second shutout of the season and second consecutive against Florida on Friday night, scattering six hits and striking out 11.

• The Gators twice threatened Fulmer through the first four innings with runners in scoring position but the right-hander retired 11 consecutive from the fifth through the eight innings.

• Allowed multiple base runners in just one inning, giving up a pair of two-out hits in the third.

• Struck out at least one in seven of nine innings en route to his seventh consecutive win.

• During his personal seven-game winning streak, Fulmer has allowed eight runs over 52.2 innings (1.37 ERA) with 70 strikeouts and five scoreless outings.

• Struck out 11-plus batters for the fifth time this season and third in the last five starts to push his league-leading season total to 118.

• His third career shutout passes former Commodore David Price on the career list.

Co-Pitcher of the Week: Wyatt Short, Ole Miss

• Factored into the decision in all three games against rival Mississippi State, saving the first two games before earning the win in the series finale.

• Pitched one scoreless inning in each game without allowing a hit.

• Retired nine of the 10 batters he faced throughout the weekend, striking out four of them. • Leads Ole Miss relievers in wins (4) and saves (9).

• Seven of his nine saves have been in SEC play this season to lead the conference.

Freshman of the Week: Alex Lange, LSU

• Allowed just one run on two hits in seven innings on Saturday, as LSU posted an 11-4 win against No. 21 Missouri.

• Limited Missouri to two walks and posted eight strikeouts.

• Improved to 9-0 on the year and lowered his cumulative ERA to 2.13 with 82 strikeouts in 76 innings.
