SEC Player of the Week
Tennessee's Detrick Mostella

Mostella, a 6-foot-1, 179-pound guard from Decatur, Ala., scored a career-high 25 points off the bench to lift Tennessee to a 72-68 win at ETSU. Mostella caught fire at the end of the first half, scoring 13 consecutive points over the final 2:33 of the opening frame. He capped the flurry with a 3-pointer with four seconds remaining in the period that gave UT its largest lead of the game at 32-23. The junior scored 12 points in the second half and put the finishing touches on Tennessee's win when he converted two free throws with 1:11 left, breaking a 65-65 deadlock. After a UT defensive stop, Mostella then knocked down the decisive jumper, essentially icing the game by giving the Vols a two-possession advantage with only 29 seconds remaining.

SEC Freshman of the Week
Auburn's Jared Harper

Harper, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound guard from Mableton, Ga., averaged 21.5 points, four rebounds and three assists in a neutral site win over Oklahoma and a win at UConn. He tied his career-high with 21 points, including 16 in the second half, against Oklahoma. Harper made 11-of-12 free throws, including 7-of-8 in the final 2:02 to keep the Sooners at bay. In the overtime win at UConn, Harper upped his career-high with 22 points as he stuffed the stat sheet with career-highs of five rebounds, five assists and four steals. His driving layup with 27 seconds remaining in overtime proved to be the game-winner.
