Player of the Week
Ryan Olenek, Ole Miss
- Ole Miss' Ryan Olenek went 6-for-13 (.462 average), recording a team high in hits and tied with a team-best two doubles to help lead Ole Miss to a sweep over No. 6 East Carolina. He started all three games in center field and recorded at least one hit in each contest.
- Olenek went 3-for-4 with a double to lead the team in a 5-4 season-opening victory.
- Batting leadoff for the first time in his career, Olenek put together a multi-hit game and plated one run in Saturday's 3-2 win. He smacked the game-winning two-run double that capped off a five-run sixth inning in the season finale.
Pitcher of the Week
Jared Poche', LSU
- LSU senior left-hander Jared Poche' fired the sixth individual no-hitter in program history, as he recorded a seven-inning gem against Army in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday.
- Poche' worked seven hitless frames, recording no walks and four strikeouts over 79 pitches in LSU's 6-0 win. Army's only base runner in the contest reached on an error in the LSU outfield in the fourth inning.
- Poche's no-hitter was the first by an LSU pitcher since 1979, when Bobby Landry accomplished the feat in a seven-inning game against Southern Mississippi.
Freshman of the Week
Braden Shewmake, Texas A&M
- Texas A&M's Braden Shewmake finished the weekend as the league leader with eight RBI, including four in his first career game.
- Shewmake opened his career by going 3-for-5 with one double, one run and four RBI. He was 1-for-3 with one walk, one run and two RBI in the lid-lifter of Saturday's doubleheader.
- Shewmake closed out the weekend going 2-for-5 with one double, one run and two RBI vs. Bowling Green.
