Men's Runner of the Week: Thomas George, Missouri
Missouri's Thomas George placed third overall and paced the Tigers for the second consecutive meet, finishing the 8K race at 25:16.0 at the Illinois State Invitational. It was the second consecutive top three finish of the season for George. He placed third earlier this year at the Brooks Twilight
Men's Freshman Runner of the Week: Nick Laning, Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt's Nick Laning became the fastest Commodore freshman ever over VU's Percy Warner Park home course, running the 8-kilometer distance in 25:36.80 at the Commodore Classic last Saturday. Laning finished 20th overall at the invitational, which drew 139 competitors from 14 teams that included two squads from the Big Ten and Atlantic Coast Conference. His performance was the third fastest by a Commodore runner in the last decade at the Percy Warner Park venue.
Women's Runner of the Week: Reilly Revord, Missouri
Missouri's Reilly Revord recorded her second top-10 finish of the season, crossing the finish line at 17:59.1 in the Illinois State Invitational. It was a 35-second improvement from her previous finish of 18:34.02 at the Brooks Twilight Classic. Revord was the top finishing freshman at the meet and helped her team to a first place finish.
Women's Freshman Runner of the Week: Julia Palin, LSU
LSU's Julia Palin led the Lady Tigers in the 3-mile run with a time of 18:13.29 to place second at the LSU Invitational. She was the top collegiate finisher in the field and led LSU to win for the second consecutive meet. Palin has been LSU's top finisher at both meets this season.
