2019 SEC Women's Golf Awards announced

The Southeastern Conference on Thursday announced its annual Women's Golf Awards, which were voted on by the league's 14 head coaches.

The 2019 All-SEC teams and a complete list of awards are listed below.

NCAA Women's Championship will be held May 17-22 at the Blessings Golf Course in Fayetteville, Ark.

Angelica Moresco, Alabama

  • Has been active in numerous community service initiatives through her seat on the Alabama SAAC.
  • Project Angel Tree and the Halloween Extravaganza were two of the big events that Angelica had a larger role in organizing.

Cara Gorlei, Arkansas

  • Has taken part in several community service activities in her four seasons with the Razorbacks.
  • This season, Gorlei has volunteered at the First Tee for Inspiring Women Leaders, at a junior golf clinic, took part in Sweat Hogs encouraging physical activities in area elementary school students and she has attended several Book Hogs events to encourage reading.

Melanie Talbott, Auburn

  • Talbott boasts a 3.25 GPA and made the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
  • She served as the Treasurer for the Auburn Student-Athlete Advisory Committee where she enhanced the overall student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity.
  • Talbott joined other student-athletes at Auburn in contributing to the Jason Dufner Foundation by helping stuff backpacks for children in need.
  • She also volunteered for local projects in the community such as Downtown Trick or Treat, Haddie's Home and the Salvation Army Christmas Angels.
  • With Talbott leading the way, the Auburn women's golf team won the canned food drive on campus.

Lauren Waidner, Florida

  • Participates in Volunteering at Shands Hospital visiting pediatric patients.
  • Member of Student Athlete Advisory Committee Special Olympics basketball Idlewild Elementary fun run Miracle on Main Street Christmas toy program Gator Tracks shoe donation program

Rinko Mitsunaga, Georgia

  • Has eagerly volunteered for projects within the Athens/Clarke County Community throughout her four years at the University of Georgia.
  • Among those includes participating in efforts for: UGA's Relay for Life, the "Hunger Bowl" benefittng the Food Bank of North East Georgia; CASA, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in foster care; the "It's on Us" campaign to stop sexual assault; the "End It Movement" to end modern day slavery; collecting toiletries for Project Safe; the "Homeruns for Hometown Rivals" baseball game with Special Olympians; UGA's Miracle, which raises funds for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta; and Safe Routes to Schools.

Josephine Chang, Kentucky

  • Frequent volunteer at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, including baking cookies for residents and participating in a tree lighting ceremony during the holidays.
  • Annual participant in the UK's God's Pantry program to help pack and distribute lunches to students across the city ... Participated in the On the Move Art Studio after-school program at a local high school. Bell ringing for the Salvation Army during the holiday season to raise money for homeless families ... Read Across America participant ... Visited patients at Shriners Hospitals to spend time with the patients and play games with the children undergoing care. Went bowling with Special Olympics athletes over the winter ... Volunteered for the Louisiana flood relief drive to supply those affected by a devastating flood ... Breakfast with Santa volunteer.

Kathleen Gallagher, LSU

  • Has been involved in a variety of community service projects in Baton Rouge and at home in Mississippi.
  • With the LSU women's golf team, she has participated in Thanksgiving with the Tigers in conjunction with the Big Buddy program and BOOzar. Kathleen is also heavily involved in philanthropy through the Chi Omega sorority.
  • Those opportunities included Special T's for Special Needs (playing games and making tie-dyed shirts with special needs children), Trick or Treat Down the Row (community children trick or treat up and down Greek Row), and Swishes for Wishes (a house event to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation).
  • At home, Kathleen spends her Sunday afternoons at the local nursing home, visiting with and singing for the residents.

Conner Beth Ball, Ole Miss

  • Has been involved with various community service activities at Heritage Academy,
  • Food for Oxford Schools. Groovin at Movin, Reading with the Rebels, Veterans Home, Adopt- a- Basket and LeapFrog Mentoring Program.

Ela Grimwood, Mississippi State

  • President's Scholar Spring 2017, Fall 2017, Spring 2018, and Fall 2018 Special Olympics Volunteer The Salvation Army Volunteer

Julia Bower, Missouri

  • Columbia Golf Foundation volunteer

Mariah Smith, Tennessee

  • UT Women's Golf Instructional Camp - Teaching young players different skills in the game of golf
  • SAAC Community Holiday Meal - Helped serve a holiday meal for Thanksgiving
  • Humane Society - Worked with Humane Society of Tennessee Valley for two days in in late November

Courtney Dow, Texas A&M

  • Boasts a 3.573 GPA in Allied Health. Named to 2018 SEC Spring Honor Roll
  • Named to 2017 SEC First-Year Honor Roll
  • Named to the Texas A&M AD's Honor Roll Twice.
  • Balanced her studies with a 73.29 stroke average on the course, including three top-10s and a tournament victory

Abbey Carlson, Vanderbilt

  • Serves as SAAC leader and student teaches through the Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science.
  • She has helped coordinate events with the aerospace design lab.
  • She also coordinates events with her engineering sorority Theta Tau.
