SEC Network kicks off football season with full slate
With football season just a few short months away, ESPN on Thursday announced the first three weeks of its 2019 college football slate. The first Southeastern Conference matchup of the season is scheduled for Saturday, August 31 as reigning SEC East champion Georgia visits Vanderbilt at 7:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network. Over the course of the first three weeks of the season, SEC Network will air a baker's dozen of games as part of more than 30 SEC-centric matchups across ABC and ESPN networks.
Previously announced SEC season openers are the 2019 Camping World Kickoff between Miami and Florida during Week 0 action on ESPN, as well as Texas State vs. Texas A&M to start the SEC Network football slate and Oregon vs. Auburn from Arlington, Texas on ABC. In total, ESPN networks will telecast four neutral site games featuring SEC squads over opening weekend. The SEC Network Saturday schedule continues in September with four games on September 7 and five games during Week 3.
In addition, ESPN will telecast the Egg Bowl, featuring the annual showdown between Ole Miss and Mississippi State, on Thursday, November 28 at 7:30 p.m. from Starkville. Additional scheduling details, including talent assignments for each matchup, will be announced at a later date.
