Player of the Week: Georgia's Trent Bryde defeated one of the top players in the country at the No. 1 singles spot as he took down No. 2-ranked Yuya Ito from Texas, 7-6 (1), 6-4. Ito entered Saturday's match with an impressive 21-1 overall record, including 12 wins against ranked opponents. The victory for Bryde marked his second over a ranked foe during this dual-match season. He also took down Mississippi State's 15th-ranked Giovanni Oradini, 6-3, 6-2, during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. Bryde is currently 3-1 at the No. 1 singles spot for Georgia this season.
Freshman of the Week: Auburn's Tyler Stice is 5-3 in singles and 7-2 at No. 1 doubles thus far this spring. He plays on the three court, in the highest spot of any of the Auburn freshmen in the lineup. Against Florida State, Stice came from down 1-4 in his third set to defeat Sebastian Arcila 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 and tie the match at 3-3. He had the lead and momentum at Georgia Tech, 4-6, 6-3, 3-1, when that match was clinched. He and Matteo DeVincentis gained Auburn's only doubles win at Georgia Tech, winning, 6-4. They also defeated The Citadel duo of Bencedic/Stewart, 6-1.
