BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ------ LSU head track and field coach Dennis Shaver and Texas A&M assistant track and field coach Sean Brady on Friday were named NCAA Women's Coach of the Year and the NCAA Women's Assistant Coach of the Year, respectively, by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Shaver led the LSU women's team to a No. 1 national ranking for four consecutive weeks entering the NCAA Championships. This marks the third time in Shaver's career that he has garnered national coach of the year honors. He received the award in 2008 and 2012 following the outdoor season in both of those years.

Brady coached three Aggies to six national top-15 marks this season, and Texas A&M jumpers scored 44 of the team's 58 points at the SEC Championships. Brady's athletes finished the meet taking home two golds, one silver and one bronze.

A total of 11 Southeastern Conference track and field coaches and athletes were finalists for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Awards.
