A total of nine SEC women's basketball players were taken in the 2021 WNBA draft. In light of the COVID-19 global pandemic, the WNBA conducted a virtual draft for the second year, with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert announcing the draft picks live on ESPN.

This was the eighth time at least four league players have been drafted in the first round and the sixth time at least nine have been drafted overall. The SEC has had a first round pick every year except one (2014).

Overall, 172 SEC players have been taken in the WNBA draft.
