Eight teams advance to SEC Championship match play

HOOVER, Ala. (April 16, 2021)-----No. 4 LSU, No. 1 South Carolina, No. 9 Auburn, No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 46 Mississippi State, No. 28 Vanderbilt, No. 23 Alabama and No. 16 Arkansas finished in the top-eight of stroke play Friday to advance to the match play portion of the SEC Women's Golf Championship at Greystone's Legacy Course.

LSU (270) set an SEC Championship record with a three-round total of 46-under par 818. South Carolina (274) was second at 37-under 827, while Auburn (282-839) was third. Ole Miss (284-843) was fourth, followed by Mississippi State (288-849), Vanderbilt (280-849), Alabama (281-850) and Arkansas (290-852) to round out the top-eight.

No. 39 Tennessee (282-853) and No. 24 Florida (282-853) tied for ninth, ahead of Texas A&M (281-864), No. 35 Kentucky (291-865), Missouri (291-875) and No. 10 Georgia (294-882).

South Carolina's No. 1-ranked Pauline Roussin-Bouchard won the individual title with a three-round championship record score of 17-under 199. LSU's Ingrid Lindblad (202) finished runner-up and tied the championship record set Wednesday by South Carolina's Ana Pelaez with an 8-under 64. This marks the fourth time a South Carolina student-athlete has won the SEC individual title and second time in the last four SEC Championships.

The quarterfinal matches will feature LSU vs. Arkansas, South Carolina vs. Alabama, Auburn vs. Vanderbilt and Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State. Play begins at 7 a.m. CT on Saturday with the semifinals to follow later in the day.

This marks the eighth year for the Southeastern Conference Championship to be contested at the Greystone Golf and Country Club just outside of Birmingham. The event consists of three days of stroke play, with the top eight teams advance to match play Saturday and Sunday.

The championship match on Sunday will be televised live on the SEC Network.
