Alabama's Victor Kiprop finished third in the men's 8-kilometer race out of 299 participants with a time of 22:54.80, leading the Crimson Tide to a ninth-place team finish among the stacked field at the Pre-National Invitational. Kiprop is one of just six men to ever run a sub-23 time over the 8-kilometer course at Apalachee Regional Park, with his 22:54.80 ranking fourth all-time.
Women's Runner of the Week: Lauren Gregory, Arkansas
Arkansas' Lauren Gregory finished second in the Pre-National Invitational, posting a time of 19:47.7, the seventh-fastest performance ever by a collegian on the Apalachee Regional Park 6k course, which will host the NCAA Championships in November. Gregory, who leads the SEC with her 6k time, was in seventh place at the 3,000m split (9:54.4), moved to fifth at 4,000m (13:13.6) and led the field at 5,000m (16:32.3). In leading a majority of the final 1k, Gregory covered it in 3:15.5.
Men's Freshman Runner of the Week: Jackson Watts, Kentucky
As the lone true freshman to compete in the men's garnet 8K for Kentucky, Jackson Watts finished the 8K race with a time of 24:49.5. Watts competed in a field that included runners from seven teams ranked in the top-25.
Women's Freshman Runner of the Week: Maddie Livingston, Texas A&M
Texas A&M's Maddie Livingston was the top Aggie freshman finishing 28th overall at 21:24.1 in a field of 265 runners at the Arturo Barrios Invitational. Livingston was the third Aggie to complete the 6,000m course. Texas A&M finished fourth in the team standings 150 points. It marked the fourth top 5 finish for the Aggies.
