Athlete of the Week: LSU's Khayla Pointer became the third player in LSU history to record a triple-double during the season opener vs. Nicholls. (Katherine Graham, 2010 and Cornelia Gayden, twice during the 1994-95 season). She set a career high in her triple-double performance with 13 assists. She's one of three active players in the SEC to have a triple-double in her career (Aaliyah Boston, SC and Tamari Key, UT). Also recorded her sixth career double-double in the loss against FGCU with 23 points and 10 rebounds. She played 36:16 in the first game against Nicholls and played all 40 minutes during Sunday's matchup against FGCU.

Freshman of the Week: Samar Spencer started her Arkansas career off with back-to-back double figure games, and shot 60 percent or better in both games. Then, in her first real collegiate test, Spencer scored eight points on the road in Arkansas' loss to UConn, hitting three of her six shots. Currently, third on the team in scoring and leads Arkansas in assists to start the young season.
