12 from SEC Named 2022 NFCA Division I All-Americans
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 2, 2022) - Twelve student-athletes from the Southeastern Conference were named to one of three 2022 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-America teams.
Mississippi State catcher Mia Davidson, a unanimous first-team selection, was named the 2022 Diamond Sports/NFCA Catcher of the Year, which is bestowed on the NFCA's first-team catcher. Davidson played a pivotal role in helping the Bulldogs reach and host their first-ever Super Regional. A member of the All-SEC First Team, she hit a team-leading .371 and ranks top-15 nationally with 22 home runs, .549 on-base percentage, .855 slugging percentage and 136 total bases.
The NFCA All-America teams are voted on by the Association's All-America Committees. In Division I, the committee is comprised of one selected member head coach from each of the NFCA's 10 regions. All student-athletes who were nominated by a member head coach and voted to the first-, second or third-team All-Region teams were eligible for All-America consideration.
