SEC represented on MLB Wild Card Series rosters
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Oct. 7, 2022)----- A total of 22 players formerly from SEC universities were named to active rosters for the American League and National League Wild Card Series.
South Carolina has four former players on 26-man rosters, while Arkansas, Kentucky, LSU and Missouri each have three. Ten SEC schools are represented on Wild Card Series rosters.
The Toronto Blue Jays have five former SEC players on their postseason roster, followed by the Guardians, Mets, Phillies and Rays with three. All eight MLB teams in the Wild Card Series have at least one former SEC player on their active roster.
The Major League Baseball Playoffs begin with the Wild Card series Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Division Series will begin Oct. 11. Rosters for the Dodgers, Braves, Astros and Yankees will be announced next week.
