SEC Player of the Week
Tolu Smith, Mississippi State
Smith, a 6-foot-11, 245-pound senior from Bay St. Louis, Miss., averaged 18.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and, 2.3 assists in wins over A&M-Corpus Christi, Akron, and Ark.-Pine Bluff. Smith converted 76.7 percent (23-of-30) of his field goal attempts on the week and was named the MVP of the Barstool Sports Invitational after he piled up his 14th career double-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds and three assists against A&M-Corpus Christi.
SEC Freshman of the Week
Gregory "GG" Jackson II, South Carolina
Jackson II, a 6-foot-9, 215-pound freshman from Columbia, S.C., averaged 15.0 points in wins over South Carolina St. and Clemson. Jackson opened his career with 18 points and 10 rebounds against SC State for his first career double-double. He followed that up with 12 points, eight rebounds and, a pair of steals in a 60-58 rivalry game victory vs. Clemson.
