Player of the Week
KK Deans, Florida
Deans, led the Gators with 18 points against Presbyterian and was one of two Gators with 20 or more against Miami. After a 21-point performance against Miami, Deans is inching closer to her 1000th-career point, currently holding 938. She played a key role in the comeback victory over Miami, hitting a step-back jumper with 38 seconds left to give UF their first lead since the first quarter. She scored seven points to help force overtime in the final frame. Deans showed her composure in the overtime period, knocking down a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line, to help claim victory over their ACC foe. The team ended 9-of-10 in overtime from the charity stripe. Florida now boasts their best start (10-1) and longest winning streak (eight games) since the 2015-16 season.
Freshman of the Week
Ryanne Allen, Vanderbilt
Allen, scored 11 of Vanderbilt's 15 points in overtime, highlighted by the 3-pointer that gave the Commodores the lead for good with 28 seconds left in the game, in a 75-70 come-from-behind victory at Louisiana Tech on Thursday. She finished the contest with 14 points-the second-highest total she has recorded at the collegiate level thus far-on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range, tying a career high in 3-pointers while scoring in double figures for the first time in five outings.
