SEC claims 19 Preseason Baseball All-Americans
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Dec. 19, 2022)-----A total of 19 Southeastern Conference baseball student-athletes have been named to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason All-America Team, it was announced Monday.
Eight SEC players were named to the first team, while seven were named to the second team, and four were chosen as third team honorees.
Florida led the way with five Preseason All-America selections, while Florida and LSU had four, Vanderbilt had three, Ole Miss two and Texas A&M one. LSU had three representatives on the first team.
The 2023 baseball season is slated to begin the weekend of Feb. 17.
