2023 NFL Draft Central: Check out each SEC selection

  • For the 12th time in the last 13 years, the SEC once again tied or led the nation in First Round NFL Draft selections, as the league produced nine opening-round draft picks.
  • During the last 19 NFL Drafts, the SEC has a nation-leading 168 players taken in the opening round, an average of nearly nine per season.
  • Bryce Young is the third No. 1 overall pick from the SEC in the last four NFL Drafts and fifth in the last 10 years.
  • This is the second consecutive year that two of the first three selections in the NFL Draft are from the SEC.
  • This is the second time in the last four NFL Drafts that two SEC quarterbacks were selected in the Top 5.
  • For the third time in the last four NFL Drafts, at least half of the Top 10 selections were from the SEC.
  • The SEC had eight of the first 16 selections of the 2023 NFL Draft.
  • The SEC now has 144 First Round NFL Draft selections since 2010.
  • Since 2010, the SEC has over double (144) the total amount of First Round selections than the next closest conference (Big Ten - 73).
  • Five different SEC teams (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Tennessee) had a player taken in the First Round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
  • The SEC now has 55 Top-10 picks since 2009 and 61 since 2007.
  • Only four schools nationally have a Top-16 pick in each of the last two NFL Drafts - three of those schools are from the SEC (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State).
  • Since 2009, Top 10 NFL picks by league: SEC (55); Big 12 (26); ACC (25); Pac-12 (24); B1G (23), Notre Dame (4); AAC (3); MAC (3); BYU (2); Mountain West (1).
  • Alabama and Georgia led the SEC with three First Round selections in the 2023 NFL Draft. Georgia has now seen seven defensive players drafted in the first round the last two years.
  • Alabama has had a First-Round selection in each of the past 15 NFL Drafts, the longest streak in SEC and college football history, as well as the most First Round picks nationally since 2007 with 44.

  • The SEC became the first league in history of the common draft era with four quarterbacks selected in the first three rounds.
  • The SEC led the nation's conferences in NFL Draft picks for the 17th consecutive year in 2023 with 62 selections, just three less than the SEC and national record set one year ago.
  • This marks the ninth straight year for the SEC to see 50 or more players taken in the NFL Draft. Only three times in the last 28 years has another conference other than the SEC seen 50 or more players drafted.
  • A total of 13 SEC teams had selections in the 2023 NFL Draft.
  • This is the seventh consecutive year the SEC has seen 25 or more players selected through the first three rounds of the NFL Draft. A total of 31 selections from the SEC were made in the first three rounds in 2023. The most ever by a league outside the SEC is 25.
  • The SEC has averaged over 50 selections per draft since 2006.
  • Alabama and Georgia led the SEC and the nation with 10 players drafted. It was the sixth consecutive season that a SEC program led the nation in overall selections. It's also the fifth time in the last six years that the program leading the country in draft picks was Alabama or Georgia.
  • The two-time reigning national champion Bulldogs set two new records for the most players selected across two drafts (25) and three drafts (34). This year's 10-player UGA class followed the record-setting 15 players selected in 2022 with nine more chosen in 2021.
