SEC with 372 former athletes on NFL Rosters in 2023

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Sept. 15, 2023) ----- A total of 372 former SEC football players were listed on NFL active rosters during the opening weekend of the 2023 season, up from 369 last season - the most NFL players of any conference. In addition, 97 former SEC players are listed on reserved/injured lists and practice squads.

Alabama led the SEC with 58 former players on NFL active rosters, followed by Georgia (46), LSU (43) and Florida (34).

Earlier this year, the SEC led the nation's conferences in NFL draft picks for the 17th consecutive year with 62 selections, just three shy of the SEC and national record of 65 set in 2022. The SEC has tied or led the nation in first round NFL Draft selections in 12 of the last 13 years.
