Five SEC Universities among Top 50 Best Colleges

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Sept. 18, 2023) - Five SEC universities were named among the Top 50 Best Colleges to attend across Wall Street Journal and U.S. News curated lists.

Vanderbilt, the lone private university in the Southeastern Conference, is ranked highest among the 14 member schools at No. 13 and No. 18, by the WSJ and U.S. News, respectively.

The University of Florida proudly boasts the title of top public university in the nation in 2024, claiming a No. 1 ranking by the Wall Street Journal. UF also ranked 15th overall by the publication. U.S. News placed UF in the top 10 of public institutions at No. 6, while ranking No. 28 on the overall list.

For the eighth consecutive year, the University of Georgia ranks in the top 20 among the nation's best public universities - checking in at No. 20 on the public list and No. 47 overall.

Texas A&M University is on the rise, climbing 20 spots nationally from the 2023 rankings to No. 47 among all universities and six spots to No. 20 among public universities.

Auburn University maintained its U.S. News ranking as a top 50 public institution, standing at No. 47 on the list.
